September 2 is my anniversary of working at Gateway Church. When I left full time ministry over 8 years ago, I never thought I would return.
Great peace is found in the place of obedience.
I felt like I heard the Lord when I left ministry those many years ago. There was peace then. I heard the Lord when I returned. There is peace now.
I may plan my path, but my steps are determined by God (Pr 16:9). If I am willing to submit the layout of the pathway to Him, then peace will be my companion along the way. It’s only when I defend my right to establish the course that peace begins to slip. And God will allow me to choose that path. He has freely given me a will. I can freely choose to ignore Him.
But I choose differently.
I am pleased beyond all comprehension to be at Gateway Church. I know a thousand people would gladly step in and take my spot; so I don’t take this moment for granted.
I also don’t take for granted the peace in which I live. It doesn’t come by accident–only obedience.
