This will be the first weekend I’ve been on a weekend worship team since I became sick. The last time I was up was the weekend of January 12 & 13. In fact, that Saturday is when I first became ill. I noticed a little energy drain that was out of the ordinary accompanied by slight body aches. By 2:30 that afternoon I clearly knew a fever had decided to join me for worship. Jill loaded me up with Tylenol and I made it through both days of worship–though I felt utterly wasted on Saturday evening. From that point things just went downhill.
I’ve done several worship events in the last couple of weeks as warm-ups to a weekend jaunt: two singles worship nights, a worship family night, and singles mother worship event. All of these were very successful and gave me the physical confidence I needed to be sure a weekend would not be too much.
Since this is my first weekend back in nearly two months, and the first following a near-death experience, I am obviously very emotional about it. I may very well shed tears through the entire first service. Just know that every tear is a drop of gratitude for the life God has given me. The last section of 2nd Corinthians OneNine in verse 11 says:
“Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
I know many have offered prayers for my healing. May we all rejoice together for what God has done in restoring his servant into service.
If you can’t join me at one of the services, you can worship through a live internet broadcast. Just visit www.gatewaypeople.tv!
