“Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
On January 18, after a week of being ill, I was informed that my heart had been attacked by a virus and was able to pump at only 20% efficiency. I was immediately careflighted to Medical City in Dallas and placed in ICU as they attempted to support my heart functions. Once in ICU I was placed on a vast array of medications. My memories after that are thin.Â
One of the things I do remember after just arriving was the presence of three of my Worship Pastors from Gateway Church to pray for me–Zach Neese, Kari Jobe, and Jason Tam. They annointed me with oil and I can clearly recall the fragrance of that moment. While waiting to pray for me, Zach read a scripture and prayed over my wife. That scripture is the one quoted above. I’m dwelling on this scripture now and intend to have more thoughts in the coming days.

Hey Daddy Robb…I was looking at your podcast favorites and I thought I would pass on another good one. Matt Chandler from the Village Church is one that I dig into regularly.
Love you so much and so glad our Jesus defeated death for you!
